Chief AI Officer
John Kahan brings nearly four decades of experience in data and artificial intelligence to his current role as Chief AI Officer at Stagwell Global, where he is responsible for the integration and development of artificial intelligence across Stagwell’s global network.
Prior to joining Stagwell, John served as Vice President and Chief Data Analytics Officer at Microsoft where he played a fundamental role in the development of several key data platforms and insights that were integral to transforming Microsoft into the $3 trillion company it is today.
John is strategic advisor to CEOs and Boards of multiple companies. He has served as Chairman and has been part of boards that acquired five companies, sold one, and took one public. His personal mission is to open up data and AI for societal good and shareholder value.
At Microsoft, John worked directly for the president of Microsoft, collaborating with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team on data strategies. He was responsible for applying data and AI to address global challenges: improving health (including the pandemic), promoting sustainable resource use, enhancing opportunities for people with disabilities, protecting human rights, and strengthening humanitarian assistance for disaster response, children’s needs, refugees, and NGOs.
Prior, John spent 18 years at IBM, holding several roles where he used data to drive profitable growth across IBM’s businesses. As VP of Integrated Marketing Communications, he transformed Marketing and managed a multi-billion-dollar P&L, overseeing over 1,300 employees worldwide.
